Sunkiss Studios — Custom Spray Tans

For the Aisle

The bridal spray tan, rehearsed before it ever meets the dress.

A trial tan 2–3 weeks out. Your approved blend re-created 2 days before the wedding. No guessing, no orange, nothing on the white silk — just a bride who looks lit from within in every photo. Serving DC and Northern Virginia weddings from Falls Church.

What is the ideal wedding spray tan timeline?

The proven schedule has two appointments: a trial tan 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding, and the real thing 2 days before you walk down the aisle. The trial locks your custom blend while there is still time to adjust; the 48-hour buffer means the color is fully developed, twice showered, and completely transfer-proof by the ceremony. Here is how it unfolds:

2–3 Weeks Out

The Trial

A full custom session in the studio: consultation, hand-blended formula, pH prep, and finishing powder. Wear it to your shower or final dress fitting, see it in photos, and tell us what to tune. We file the exact recipe.

2 Days Before

The Wedding Tan

Your approved blend, applied as a rapid-rinse formula so you can shower the same evening. By the ceremony the color has settled to its final depth and there is nothing left to transfer onto the dress.

The Wedding Day

Just Glow

Nothing to do but moisturize. The tan photographs evenly from first look to last dance, holds through the honeymoon send-off, and fades evenly over the following week — beach plans included.

Bridal packages, priced plainly

The Bride Plan

$199

Both appointments: the trial custom tan 2–3 weeks out and the wedding-day rapid tan 2 days prior, with your approved formula on file in between. The complete timeline, handled.

The Bridal Party

$499

The bride's trial plus wedding-week tans for the bride and four attendants — each with an individually blended formula. In studio, or as a mobile appointment at your hotel or venue.

Larger wedding parties: a mobile spray tan party covers up to 8 guests at one address for $950.

Why do DC and Northern Virginia brides book a custom tan?

Because the wedding here is a production. DC metro wedding season peaks in May–June and September–October, photographers shoot from golden hour into ballroom light, and the dress is almost always white — the most unforgiving backdrop a tan can have. A booth tan gambles all of that on a machine preset. A custom airbrush tan is blended to your undertone, rehearsed at the trial, and applied by the same artist both times — which is why nearly half of brides now make a professional spray tan part of the beauty timeline, right beside hair and makeup.

From Falls Church we reach every corner of the wedding map — Georgetown hotels, Arlington rooftops, Alexandria waterfront venues, McLean estates, and Maryland-side celebrations in Bethesda — in under 40 minutes.

Bridal spray tan questions, answered

When should I get my spray tan before my wedding?

Two days before the wedding is the sweet spot. The color is fully developed and rinsed, any bronzer scent is gone, and the tan photographs at its richest with zero transfer risk to your dress. Your trial happens 2 to 3 weeks earlier, so wedding week is a repeat of a blend you have already approved.

Why do I need a bridal spray tan trial?

Because your wedding day is not the day to discover you wanted one shade lighter. The trial, taken 2 to 3 weeks out, lets you see your custom blend in your engagement photos, under evening light, and against white fabric. We record the exact formula and depth, then re-create it precisely two days before the wedding.

Will a spray tan rub off on my wedding dress?

Not if it is timed correctly. By spraying 2 days before, you shower twice before the ceremony — every trace of cosmetic bronzer is rinsed away, leaving only the developed color in your skin. White silk, satin, and lace stay pristine. This timing rule is exactly why we schedule bridal tans for you rather than leaving it to chance.

How does the Bridal Party package work?

The $499 Bridal Party package covers the bride’s trial plus wedding-week tans for the bride and four attendants — bridesmaids, moms, or anyone in the photos. Each person gets an individually blended formula. We can host the party in our Falls Church studio or bring the tent to your hotel or venue as a mobile appointment.

Do you travel to DC and Northern Virginia wedding venues?

Yes. We regularly spray at hotels and homes across Washington DC, Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, and the rest of the metro before wedding weekends. Mobile service is zone-priced from Falls Church, and the night-before-rehearsal slot is the most booked appointment of wedding season — reserve it early.

What if I have never had a spray tan before?

You are the exact bride the trial exists for. Your artist starts conservative — a natural, sun-kissed depth matched to your undertone — and adjusts from your feedback. Because every Sunkiss tan is hand-blended rather than machine-dispensed, subtle is genuinely achievable, and orange is off the table.
